Some large, bulky or heavy items are shipped via motor freight, truck or LTL (Less than Truck Load) freight. We offer several methods for items shipped via motor freight. See the shipping charges listed in the cart or at checkout. Please note that rush delivery may not be available for items shipped via motor freight, truck or LTL shipping.
Business Delivery of Freight / LTL Shipments
If your business has a dock, forklift or truck ramp, you are probably all set to receive our motor freight, truckload or LTL Shipment. If you don’t have a dock or way of unloading your shipment, you can request liftgate service by calling us at (800) 513-8993 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Some customers also contact a willing and able local business to have their freight shipment delivered to. The business you select must have a loading dock, forklift or offloading area. They must also be able to accept this semi truck based delivery during normal business hours. Typical businesses used by our customers include local warehouses, hardware stores, feed stores, lumber yards, building supply centers, etc.
Trucking Depot / Terminal Delivery
If you cannot have the shipment delivered to a business, our next best options is to ship to the trucking company’s terminal or depot. We ship to hundreds of trucking depots and carrier terminals across the U.S. that offer pickup at their facilities. If you request depot delivery with your order, we will determine the trucking depot closest to you. Most carriers will pick your shipment with a forklift and load your shipment into your vehicle (you’ll need to have a truck, pickup truck, box van or trailer).
Home Delivery of Freight / LTL Shipments
We offer limited home delivery of freight or LTL shipments. Your home and driveway must be accessible to a tractor-trailer up to 53 ft long, and someone must be home during business hours to accept delivery. Because the driver is not required to unload your machine, you should plan on having a way to unload the bulky / heavy items.
If you do not have a way to unload the bulky item, you may request liftgate service at the time of your order and before the shipment has left or has been scheduled for delivery. Please call (800) 513-8993 or request liftgate at checkout. Carriers typically charge an additional fee of $50 to $125 for this lift gate service. This is in addition to the regualar shipping charges and will be charged / billed to you.
If liftgate service is ordered, your shipment will be unloaded out of the truck onto the ground and typically left with you at the curb or driveway. The driver is not responsible for moving the item beyond unloading it from the truck so be sure to to be prepared for this scenario. Remember, someone must be available at home during business hours to accept delivery, and your home and driveway must be accessible to a tractor-trailer up to 53 ft long.
