Municipal Submersible Liftstation Hydrostatic Level Transmitter
Replacement and Custom Backup Level Control
The City of Fairborn Ohio needed to add another way to measure liftstation level. The existing level control used a two part ultrasonic level transmitter to turn pumps off and on along with monitoring through an RTU and SCADA system. Operations needed to add additional screening capabilities to the raw influent and wetwell areas. That sewer lift station screening equipment blocked the existing ultrasonic level transmitter measuring beam. They needed a way to measure the wetwell level when the grates were in place. They wanted to have the flexibility to go back to the ultrasonic level transmitter as a backup or as a primary way of measuring when the wastewater screen below is not in place.
Aqua Technology Group provided a submersible hydrostatic level transmitter for liftstations from Nivelco. This Nivelco hydrostatic level transmitter system for liftstations uses the reliable Nivopress N. Aqua Technology Group also implemented a simple trasmitter switchover / backup circuit so the operator could change from the old lift station ultrasonic level level transmitter to the submersible lift station level transmitter and back whenever they needed. Now they have a reliable liftstation level transmitter when screening and when not.
